Highly recommend it, I have been a Archviz professional since 1991, long term user of 3dsmax, now migrated over to Blender just because... I've been dealing with big giant architecture files with all kinds of material assignment anomalies, this makes the file organization alone worth the price. Not that this is not perfect, but to make it..."more perfect" lol...maybe add some procedural sidings and procedural bricks to it. That will be great. Thank you Andrew for making such a great product!

Great product for those of us who absolutely refuse to use the noodle mess that is nodes.
But one big problem is that every file I open requires me to register all over again. Including putting my password into Blender which I do not see as safe with the way Blender works. (Whole different topic)

I'm one of those users who have multiple start files and one problem is when I revert to defaults in Blender, I have to register this addon all over again.
That does not work well with speeding up my particular pipeline workflow.
The same happens if I open project files we have worked on in the past.

Despite all that, as far as the product goes with texturing and materials, it's definitely worth it. It lets you focus on your project without getting bogged down with unnecessarily complex backend noodles.

Too bad, the installation and registration process is long and tedious. And the library download time is endless. For the rest, the quality of the textures is suitable.

Good. Excellent even. But handing the download of materials through the addon in blender for initial installation is horrendous. Only after 4 hours now am I going to finish downloading just 2k textures on 150mb/s internet speed. Previously it took just an hour or so to download all the 4k materials on blendermarket.

Of course ill eventually get all the materials downloaded and wont have to worry too much about this again. But I hope a solution to very slow downloads is eventually found.

About half the materials are really good, and the other half are just ok. I don't mind the small hassle of registering the product but the downloading process is terrible. I spoke to the creator a few days after the Black Friday slowdown and he said it should be up to speed. It wasn't. He was very polite and helpful which I appreciated, but nothing has changed. It's now three weeks later. I have 50mps at home, and everything else downloads super fast, but this is still stalling out. It feels so buggy, and I have to sit with it while it downloads, then when it loses the connection I jump in and manually restart (so slowly as it finds the catalogue again) and then watch for another hour. So, it's not a practical way to download at all. At the moment there's a warning that it's because downloads are slow in Blender 3.0, but it's getting a bit ridiculous. After three weeks I have the 2K materials and am underway with the 8K materials. I may never get around to 4K and others as it takes too long. The add-on itself is very laggy. After trying it for a few days I switched to using PBR Painter which is very smooth. I've got an excellent CPU and RTX 3090 so it should be smooth, but I found the add-on interface of Extreme PBR to lag too much. So, three stars for some good materials, but really, that's all I got. I think a lot of people would be happier to get PBRs elsewhere and just use PBR Painter.

Great addon but as others have commented the new forced library download via Blender is a big annoyance. Having the materials available in packs to download via the Blender Market previously was a perfectly fine option. What's more annoying is that I still have the old library on disk, but there's no way to merge this with the new one. So I'm forced to download the entire library, including all duplicates, again at a ridiculously slow download speed (48 hours!). The developer needs to re-think this one as it's introducing unnecessary friction. Had I not already bought an earlier version I'd most likely be asking for a refund.

Just full disclosure, I left a similar review to Andrew's other product HDRi Maker, so if there is any overlap, I apologize but they're things I want to bring up for both products.

This is an extremely useful add-on, it offers more materials for the price than many of the collections you'll find. The user interface is so easy to understand that even a complete beginner like myself had no issues whatsoever navigating around it and taking advantage of the texture painting and FX abilities it offers. Like I said in the review for HDRi Maker, it speaks volumes for a developer to not only make such a useful add-on, but to make it so easily understandable for someone with little experience at the same time..

Are you going to get the same results that you would from something like Substance Painter?? No.. but you're also getting a lifetime license for a one time payment of less than $100 as opposed to Adobe forcing their customers to lease the ability to use their software instead of owning it.

Do I recommend it? Absolutely yes.. Between the number of materials included, the organization of said materials, combined with the easily accessible tools like texture painting.. You really can't go wrong with this add-on. You get the material library, and tools that are often sold as standalone add-ons for things like texture painting and even adding surface imperfections.

Andrew is great developer who somehow made time to answer ALL of my questions before I had even purchased either of the two addons and this was during the time their servers were having issues..
    ------
About the server problems a lot of recent reviews are complaining about..

I'm sorry, and I don't mean to sound condescending, but.. when I purchased the add-on, all I had to do was read the product page where it clearly stated the BFCM sales were hitting their servers hard, and to just please be patient while they got them up and running at preferred speeds again.

I've had nothing but friendly support from the Blender community in the short time I've been messing around with it, so its just a bit shocking to see some of the things people posted as a review during that time.

I noticed this add-on being referred to as some kind of scam?? How did you come to that conclusion when it has a LONG history of high sales and high ratings PRIOR to the issues regarding the servers during the sale?? One of them, straight up used profanity because they couldn't IMMEDIATELY get the textures downloaded.. How old are you?? There's NO excuse for that. I suffer from pretty major social issues and mental illness, and even I read that review thinking "This had to be posted by the same person who threw a tantrum in the cereal aisle of a grocery store as a child.. and not much has changed."

I'm sorry, but I don't understand how anyone jumped to some of these conclusions, and instead of simply messaging the developer to ask what was going on, the first reaction was to just leave a negative review?? I don't know Andrew personally, but he was finding the time to answer all of my questions BEFORE buying either product, so I know for a fact if you purchased it, couldn't get it to download the textures, and had simply either come back to the product page and read "Our servers are having problems with the amount of traffic from the sale," and/or simply messaged him asking, you would have had your answer. The decision to immediately leave a review instead of doing one of those two things should not be impacting the rating of such a good product, and I can't even begin to fathom how one person was hostile enough to use profanity..

So there are some good and some bad aspects to this app. First the good: The materials are pretty nice and there is a fair amount of variety. The ability to paint and combine different materials on the same object is very nice, although a little difficult to figure out at first. Now for the bad. The major flaw for me is only being able to use this add on on one single computer at a time because you register the computer to your license in order to access the materials. I understand protecting you asset and needing to make a profit from the work put in, but I often like to switch between different work locations and do a little bit of work wherever I might be. Though it’s possible to reassign the license anytime it is a painstaking process and not really worth it. I think at least being able to assign to two machines at a time would make it much better for me. Also the library is a bit limited despite the variety provided. Hopefully it will expand over time, but for the same price I paid for this app I have gotten many more materials from other sources. Despite that this is a pretty good app and I’d say very helpful if you’re pretty new to blender or don’t have much experience with materials.

I was on the fence about whether I needed this, but after getting it, I think it fulfills what I was looking for. A quick way of setting up textures while developing the look in my scene. Some textures I may replace with specific ones once my scene is set up, but the library is broad enough I can develop a whole scene with these and then go into more specifics on objects closer to the camera. And I can add my own textures from other resources into the library. So that's great. The displacement stuff and UV's were a little confusing to me after being familiar with their setup in vanilla blender. But a quick run-through of the docs and youtube videos helped and got me using it the right way. I would say, I think the youtube videos are a bit easier to understand, but maybe that's my personal preference.
Thanks to the developer and I'm looking forward to more updates. If it's possible to bring something in that allows blending the texture for organic materials like dirt on large planes to get rid of tile repetition (to some degree, doesn't have to be perfect) (mosaic method might work?), that would be a big bonus. Just a thought.
*With regard to the download time, as I'm seeing comments in some reviews, I did download the full library. I'm in NA, and have very fast internet and it did take quite a while. It was a number of hours. However my internet was stable and it got it on the first try. I was getting a stable 30-40mbps dl. Honestly I've had similar internet speeds downloading from Steam. I'm not sure where this is hosted, but I can't say I'm expecting much better coming from a small dev. I don't know..
You can also download the basic packs and then download the larger packs after, which is recommended in the documentation. A faster download would be nice but I only need to do it once and then the addon updates the library later, so I don't think it will be an issue once the bulk is downloaded. Hopefully people who were having a hard time can get it working.
Overall I'm happy with the product so far, and seems priced about right for the function and pre-packed cc0 textures.

Please distribute it in Zip format.

Does anyone exist who was able to download the library? Normally it takes less than 30 minutes to download 80GB, but due to the poor performance of the Nexus server, the download was only 3% complete after 20 hours.

I don't understand why you don't distribute the zip format on BlenderMarket until the server is stable.

Hi, we're sorry for what happened, as we reported on the product description page, during BlackFriday we had a huge influx of users on our server. We cannot otherwise distribute the libraries as they are 184 GB of files and must be installed correctly by Extreme PBR installer. We have written a notice, both on BlenderMarket and on our ExtremeAddons website, that in these days of Blackfriday there could be Download problems, We also have a chat in which we assist our users, we would have explained well what happens. In any case, I repeat, I'm sorry for what happened. I invite you to try again and if you use a VPN / Proxy, disable it, as these services can slow down the download a lot.
