Repackaged free materials, he should say where he gets them from.

Hello Daniel, there is an "INFO" button just at the bottom right of the material preview in the main panel, once you press the Info button, a popup panel will open which contains all the information including license type and tags

This plugin has a huge problem. The asset download has taken over two days so far, and the estimated download time is still more than a day. Also it has cancelled three times, and I have had to manually restart the download process.

Speedtest.net says my speed is 540mbps. Why is it taking more than two days to download 200gb of data?

I'll come back and update my review when the installation is completed. Hopefully sometime this week, but I'm not holding my breath.

I wish they would host the files elsewhere, even if it meant spending more for them. This is totally insane. If the download isn't completed in a couple days, I'm asking for a refund.

First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize for any negative experience you had with downloading libraries through my site. I really appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that I am taking immediate steps to address this situation.

I understand that the download was incredibly slow and cumbersome, and I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. I confirm that I have made the decision to completely port the distribution of libraries via BlenderMarket from Extreme PBR version 4.1.100 This should ensure a better download experience without delays or prolonged interruptions.

It's true that in the past I have offered downloads through my site to allow direct access to the materials from the addon itself. Unfortunately, the speed issue and file extraction times have contributed to the inconveniences you're experiencing. However, I have taken your feedback into account and made the necessary changes to avoid similar situations in the future. However, the service on Extreme-Addon remains available.

Since the distribution has moved to BlenderMarket, you should now experience a dramatic improvement in download speed. Also, I've simplified the login process so that you no longer need to register on the "exteme-addons" site.

If you encounter any problems or have any further questions, please contact me directly. I provide constant assistance and am here to solve any problem you may encounter.

Once again, my sincere apologies and I hope you can check out the addon version 4.1.100, which offers new features and significant improvements.

An incredible time saver not just for the massive library of materials but the additional tools, painting on materials is simply fun and easy to do, adding wear and dirt was a matter of a few clicks it almost feels criminal.
Support is fantastic overall 5 stars!

I'm truly thrilled to hear that the addon has proven to be an exceptional time-saver, offering not only an extensive array of materials but also additional tools. It's wonderful to know that painting on materials has become an enjoyable and straightforward experience, and that the process of adding wear and dirt has been streamlined to just a few clicks – it's almost unbelievably convenient!

I'm genuinely grateful for your positive feedback on the support provided. Ensuring excellent assistance is a priority for me, and I'm absolutely delighted that you've awarded the addon a full 5-star rating!

Thank you very much for sharing your positive impressions. I'm committed to continuously enhancing the user experience 😊

1GB Essentials only download over 4 hours on high speed fiber internet....speedtest shows over 200mbps while downloading the plugin but the download averaging about 60kb/s....literally 3 ten thousandths of my bandwidth.
The new update ruins this unless they get the speed running at modern standards.
Good library though, but there had to be a better way to implement.

I really appreciate your feedback and I'm sorry for the download issues you are having. First, I want to assure you that I have taken significant steps to address this issue.

In the past, distributing libraries through my website resulted in slower download speeds, which I now recognize as an inconvenience. This was a decision made due to the size of the libraries and market concerns for Blender. However, starting with Extreme PBR Nexus 4.1.10, I moved the distribution to BlenderMarket to improve the situation.

I want to point out that the download process was impacted by server performance and extraction times, which understandably compounded the problem. I'm working diligently to ensure a smoother experience for users moving forward.

As a dedicated programmer, not a large company, my intention is to provide a top notch service. I am always available to assist and answer any questions you may have. Furthermore, I would like to clarify that registration on "exteme-addons" is no longer necessary but if you need it the service remains active.

Your feedback is essential and I am committed to improving the user experience. Do not hesitate to contact us in case of further difficulties.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

I fully recommend this addon. I can not confirm the slow download speed which is mentioned by other reviews. Maybe this was an issue of the past.
The textures are looking great and the addon is really easy to use. The developer is also helping really fast if you have issues with using the addon. Grab it, you get great value!

Download is too slow. It took me a week to be able to use it.

Hello, I inform you that the problem has been solved, you just have to update the addon to the latest version (Check your orderpage, you will find all the files and the new documentation). In any case it would have been good to contact me, I would have provided you with the whole library in a short time, but I understand your frustration and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Now the addon no longer has problems downloading materials as it happened for some time for some users 👍 I hope this news is useful for you.

The plugin per se is doubtless good, but the download speed around 50kB/s in 2022 is utterly unacceptable for such a large content pack. Maybe invest in AWS or some off-the-shelf cloud service for blender users around the globe?

You are absolutely right! This experience not very good for some users, especially for those who were away from my server, but now there is the new version of Extreme PBR Nexys, check your Orderpage, you will find all the files and links to the new documentation. All slow download problems from the site are now Fixed with the new "exapack" file distribution

If you have doubts message me 👍

I'm rating this 5 stars because you really do get tremendous value for the dollar with this add-on, which has everything including the kitchen sink. It is very powerful and I know I have a ways to go before I really can take advantage of all its capabilities.

BUT I have to say something about the registration, as others have mentioned. I just fired it up after a few months hiatus since the last time I used it...and wouldn't you know I had to go online to their web site to release it from my home PC so that I could use it on my work PC. While it's not the hardest thing in the world to do, it still required several steps, about 6 minutes of time, and a some brain bandwidth and fumbling around trying to remember how to do it. Very annoying. And now that I'm home, I will have to do it again if I want to use it...ugh... I suddenly remembered why I hadn't used this in a while - sometimes I'm just not in the mood to deal with this kind of silliness :)

First-world problem? Absolutely, but here's the thing - I have literally hundreds of paid add-ons, including all the well-known and popular ones on BM, and NOT ONE OTHER DEVELOPER I can think of carries this level of protection for their product. In fact, the last time I can remember ANY software provider of any kind limiting a license to only 1 device at a time was probably sometime back in the 90s when I wasn't listening to Nirvana or Pearl Jam! So I guess in that respect, this add-on is charmingly quaint :D I think nearly every other developer on the planet has long ago figured out this is not really necessary. I really like this add-on, so I hope Andrew listens to his users and rethinks this policy.

That out of the way, here are some thoughts about the add-on: Overall, there is a good, solid variety of materials, to cover most of the usual meat-and-potatoes needs, and tilted mainly toward archviz, as far as I can tell. The quality of the materials ranges from very good to fair with some on the mediocre side. None would be mistaken for Substance or Quixel quality, but if you really think about it you don't really need that level of detail for most projects. These are more than good enough for about 80% of my archviz needs. One can really create fantastic-looking scenes with many of these materials. And the ability to quickly tweak and mix textures with so many parameters at your fingertips (without having to open the shader editor) is simply unmatched by anything I've seen so far. The modular mixing approach is very clever.

The car paint shader is especially excellent with the ability to easily create convincing iridescent color changes as well as flaking and orange peel effects. The water shader is also nice.

Overall, this add-on more than merits 5 stars - once you're able to actually use it. I highly recommend it though it would be even a better value if the obstacles to its use are finally removed.

      Hello Jake 👋

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and for sharing your experience with our add-on. You are so very kind 😊 I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed the value the add-on offers and found many of its features useful for your projects.

I fully understand your frustrations with the signup process and limitations on cross-device use. I recognize that this can be annoying and a hindrance to the overall experience. I want to give you some great news: I've listened to our users' feedback and made some major improvements to the add-on.

I am happy to announce that in the new add-on version 4.1.100, in which I have introduced a completely new and simplified distribution system. This will allow you to install and use the addon on different devices without the need to go through the website. We have been testing this new feature for many months on "HDRi Maker" and I am confident it will solve your concerns about it. Also, I've made several improvements to both the add-on itself and its interface. I've also prepared comprehensive new documentation that will walk you through installing and using the new features.

I kindly invite you to take a look at your order page to access the new version of the add-on and the "readme" file links that will direct you to the installation and documentation. I hope these updates make your experience with our add-on even more satisfying and smooth.

Thanks again for your continued support and for giving me the opportunity to improve your experience with my product. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the new version again! Write me a message in the "Ask a question" if you want 😀

The registration and updating procedures are horrendously slow and tedious! I switch between computers a lot and I honestly don't bother with this addon anymore. I've spent more time trying to set this up and downloading the updates than using the actual addon.

Bought this a few years ago, but now with the latest version and support for high res textures, this is so awesome and has sped up my workflow a ton! Easy blending of different materials as well! Definitely worth the price!
