I've been re-visiting this fantastic course for a photogrammetry project and was struck again by just how *generous* it is. The supplied assets are of course exemplary and the many chapters cover every aspect of the topic but when I say generous I mean the video tuition is incredibly considerate of the viewer - Gleb backs up every theoretical point with carefully illustrated examples that makes everything super comprehensible and allows each video to move at a good pace. It would've been easy to just explain some of these aspects into the mic while we stare at the unmoving Reality Capture UI but no, CS go above and beyond and the result is the platonic ideal: both entertaining and deeply educational.
The production quality, from Gleb's mic to the writing to the titling is possibly the highest I've seen anywhere. In a sea of lazy, half baked tutorial content out there Creative Shrimp output is setting the example for all to follow. Thank you guys!
I am a beginner and 3D modelling and rendering with Blender has been a hobby of mine for over 10 years. Your YT video from 5 years ago, Gleb, got me interested in photogrammetry but I haven't had much success with anything until I bought this course. So thank you very much.
A feedback I have, and the only reason I haven't rated this a 5, is a lack of talking about why a certain action is taken as well as addressing possible failure modes.
An example of the former (the why) is in A2.1_02 Basic Workflow RC Part2. You say that using the Start button is not the best way to go and instead go thru the steps one by one. Why is that? It's not obvious to a beginner like me.
An example of the latter is in A2.1_06 Basic Workflow RC Part6. Gleb, about 5 min in you say that you are checking that the textures are hooked up correctly. What if that was not the case? It was correct for me so it's not a problem I've encountered but it would be great if you touched on what possible failure reasons there could be and how you would troubleshoot them.
Making a separate video on the topic of troubleshooting and possible failure modes that you can think of would suffice in my mind.
Really clear tutorials. That is, Gleb speaks clearly, without sounding bored or condescending, and he makes all the point clearly, without ever going over your head or making you feel stupid. There are some people who make tutorials and all you can here is the sighing, the sloppy mouth noises, the swearing, the long pauses while they think about the bit they didn't rehearse, the breath on the microphone, and that lazy approach ruins the experience for me. There was none of that in this course and it was all extremely clear, setting a benchmark for blender courses. This is one of the best productions in terms of clarity and I'll look out for more from this team.
Content-wise I was happy with the coverage of photography but wouldn't have been if it was all new to me. It is a massive part of the work. I'm not sure what the solution is because teaching photography is a huge undertaking. Maybe there is the right amount of information for beginners, but I doubt it, and I imagine some will be frustrated.
Can you learn photogrammetry from it? Yes, absolutely. If you follow the steps you learn those skills. I've given it four stars because it doesn't quite give me all I hoped for. I didn't know you couldn't capture objects in bright sunlight (tough in Australia), or plants, or objects with many thin surfaces, or shiny objects. Almost everything I wanted to capture falls into those categories. So I'll have almost no use for the information. That may be my fault for not researching more, but I feel like it might have been worth mentioning that in the course requirements; you need access to cloudy weather and big, solid objects. I don't regret the purchase one little bit, but I wish I'd known all this before starting out. If that aspect doesn't bother you, consider this a five star review.

Rating made after following the entire course.
The course was done by professionals, you can easily understand it from the beginning. It's very well explained, well presented.
As I'm already experienced in photogrammetry I hoped to find interesting additionnal tools in this course. I can say I found some in the blender tips but also in gimp. Any new knowledge was very appreciated.
Gleb is great speaker and it's something I liked as english is not my native language, also he made the explanations not boring at all :)
I was surprised to see so little about photography, which is from my point of view "80%" of the work. By having good pictures, enough data to get good mesh reconstruction, you won't have to go through the struggle of so much clean up and texture enhancement of any sort. I think this is something that was not specified enough in this tutorial. As photogrammetry is the future in virtual realism, it was an important subject.
Also, it missed some explanations about how RC works, as it can be a tricky software, especially texture sizes needed to reach the best quality (which is often appreciated...) or texture count as it should be often more than one during texturing part.
3D scans in the showcase are beautifully rendered, because of this dark ambient that is very convenient + the fact it was optimized by people who do great in rendering. I would have more concern in a brighter environment...
Actually, I was waiting for advanced material workaround, such as dealing with metallic surfaces (and water,glass..) all the hard times you will encounter in your photogrammetry experience. This is the kind of things we learn the hard way but would like to know in such tutorial. About all the meshes were simple surfaces. It would have been interesting to have advanced workflow for more complex meshes, like the car?
One tool didn't work so I sent a message here, I had the good surprise to discover fast answer to it. However my next email didn't get an answer, but I bet it went into spams or something.
This is a sincere appreciation from my own experience, still, I'm sure many people enjoyed or will enjoy this course as it can be so usefull, for people from no to intermediate knowledge in photogrammetry. I think this is perfect for people such as 3D environment artists who would like to use photogrammetry to enhance their scenes, for exemple. Not for people who would like something more specific like archeological or hyper realistic purposes, from my point of view.

Thanks for the comments! Really great to hear you liked it! We are currently in production for additional content so these comments always help us! Apologies that the email you sent got lost in our inbox, to help with communication we also have a great community of photoscanners of all levels on our Discord though we recognize that not everyone will want to take that route. Thanks again for your thoughts and look out for those bonuses! :)
This is the best course that I have bought for a long time. It is excellent value and the instructors are very knowledgeable and its easy to watch the videos. There is so much in this course that I had no ide about even though I have done some other photogrammetry courses. The fact that they let us know what free software besides Reality Capture we can use to process the photos is a great help. I will have to watch it a few times to take it all in but I am finally happy with the results that I am getting from Photogrammetry and it just makes me want to really learn all about Reality Capture. Brilliant course, Thanks.

Your comments are massively appreciated! There's a lot to say on the topic and we're always interested in hearing people's feedback, the Discord is a great place to share any work and feedback too! :)
I am really enjoying this course. I want to call out that it is not for photography beginners. If you have little to no experience with photography concepts and terms, Google is going to be your best friend. F-stop, ISO, Shutter-speed, RAW, White Balance - these are just some of the terms that are used with the assumption that you have an understanding of their concepts, uses and definitions. While you can pause the video and go off to obtain a basic understanding of these concepts, please understand they aren't explained in these videos (at least to the point that I have reached --- Chapter 1 -- 12) If this changes, I will come back and update my review.
So an addition to the "Requirements" section would be -- A basic understanding of photography, its terms, definitions and underlying concepts.
That said, I don't mind beating up Google and I have already learned a ton. Thank you for sharing this knowledge with us.

Great to hear you’ve been enjoying the course and many thanks for the recommendations, hopefully we can address some of these within a future update. We’ve already reworked the camera settings video a bit in the last update, though we’ll brainstorm the various ways to improve this section furthermore with the team. Plus, we have adjusted the ‘Requirements’ too, thanks again for the feedback! :)
Amazing course !
