  Even though on blender 3.3 there is finally a "Shade Auto Smooth", some of my everyday addons wont work on 3+, so im sticking with 2.93.
  I personally use it to shade smooth+auto smooth in one click.
  Does it's job quite good. Must have imo. Appears on object context menu next to default shading settings, and has its own parameter window with additional settings if needed (can change smoothing angle degrees right away from there+other settings).

  I'm glad I didn't pull it from the store now (I assumed it was outdated afetr the 3.3 release.
  It seems unfair that you're stuck on 2.97 however .. what are the addons that you rely on ? Perhaps I can help or fill in the gap if they're abandoned. Do feel free to contact me directly :) Always happy to help if I can
