Origin Wrangler
Operators
Origin to 3D Cursor | Sets the origin(s) of the selected object(s) to the current position of the 3D cursor. |
Origin to Geometry | Sets the origin(s) of the selected object(s) to the average of the (selected*) vertices’ locations. |
Origin to Center of Mass | Sets the origin(s) of the selected object(s) to the center of mass of the (selected*) geometry, treated as a hollow shell, or as a solid volume of uniform density (the latter requires manifold geometry). |
Origin to Bounds | Sets the origin(s) of the selected object(s) to the bounding box of the (selected*) geometry. Can pick between the local-space bounding box and the global-space bounding box. |
Smart Align | Sets the origin(s) of the selected object(s) to the average of the positions of the vertices at one of the six sides (+X, -X, +Y, -Y, +Z, -Z) of an object. Can pick between local and global axes. The vertices that are considered "on a side" is determined by an adjustable threshold. |
* The center is calculated from the selected faces/edges/verts if Origin Wrangler is run from edit mode and the "Use Selected Geometry" checkbox is checked.
Controls
Checkbox: Use Final Meshes | Only when Origin Wrangler is run in object mode. If checked, the center is calculated from the resulting geometry after shape keys and modifiers. If not checked, the center is calculated from the base mesh that is in edit mode. |
Checkbox: Use Selected Geometry | Only when Origin Wrangler is run in edit mode. If checked, the center is calculated from the current selection. If nothing is selected, the entire object is used instead. If not checked, the center is calculated from the whole object’s geometry regardless of what’s selected. |
Slider: Mix | Interpolate between old and new origin positions. 0 is the old position. 1 is the new position. For most use cases, this slider is set to 1. |
