Mesh Designer
What is this option "Stick" (on rotation)" in the transfrom tab ?Well, it's a curious option, not perfect, but curious. With this option (and with the "On the ground" button activated), you can now rotate your object and move it. It will move without entering the ground. It's pure magic.
In almost all cases, yes, you can. You can add cloth or any deformers you want. If you need to apply all the modifiers, rename the new active ones with the prefix "MD" to apply them with the Apply button.
Yes, you can. Except for the first deformer (MD DESIGN), you can change the existing deformers to alter the result. The values of the MD will work. And the Apply button will apply the deformers in the new order.
Well, it took 6 months to develop this plugin in Paris (really!), but it may only take one or two minutes to create a character like this:
The recipe is simple:
1 - Create a "Gear" MD Primitive in the Y axis.
2 - In the studio version, apply smoothing (shade smooth, subdivide, or surface subdivision smooth (all available and automatically applied for rendering)).
(In the standard version you can add you own deformers, manually. Deform slightly the gears and smooth it.)
3 - Duplicate this MD Primitive (you have this option closed to the "New DESIGN" button and change it to a sphere
(this is pure magic ; the sphere stays in the same place with all deformations).
4 - Duplicate its material in the Material section of the side panel and choose white.
5 - Do the same for the black iris: scale it and move it to position it on the eye surface.
That's all. Just 2 minutes.
This is the rest of the Family
Yes, you can. In the studio version, where you can find this amazing "Vanish" feature (and others), you can apply it to an MD object (a Mesh Design object). But you can also use it on an external object or collection. Simply create a new MD object "folder" and choose your collection or object. Every parameter on this Mesh Design folder object, like Vanish or any other, will be applied to your object or collection.
Note that this object or collection can contain another MD object. Even if it can be heavy (depending on your parameters), it works perfectly.
Almost all parameters can be animated. Simply select the parameter you want to animate and press the "I" key for each one.
all these exemples are made with Mesh Designer
Of course, you can, and it may be a great idea. For example, you can add a cloth modifier to transform your design into cloth. You can work with a proxy version (with fewer faces) and then, when you are satisfied, increase the number of faces.
Here is an example I made in the studio version by importing a collection of two mesh designs combined, a sphere and a gear. Afterward, I created a third mesh design and applied a cloth modifier to it.
Yes, you need to change it manually in the Modifiers Properties. Feel free to use it, it makes great results to change the modifier order.
Yes, but keep in mind that the prefix "MD" should be preserved if you want to change the Mesh Design options.
