Clipit
Detecting silences is not an easy job. So while cutting, Blender focuses its power on detecting silences rather than updating the UI. To see the progress, simply go to Window > Toggle System Console before clicking on the Clipit button. The progress will be printed there.
To make Clipit faster, it utilizes an external program for detecting silences, so it currently only works on Windows.
Yes! Of course.
Make sure you have an active internet connection the first time you enable the addon for it to install the required Python dependencies.
Blender's sequencer doesn't have a linking feature. However, when exporting an XML file, Clipit tries its best to infer which video and audio strips are related together. However, this currently only works when the mode is set to Create New.
Typically, it takes about 3.5 seconds for each 10 minutes of content. However, it depends! If your device is currently performing a heavy CPU-intensive task or if you have many programs opened, it may take a bit longer.
