    I bought the commercial version of this product. This product has now been left behind by the developers with no updates for Blender 4.x leaving it as useless and a waste of my money! And version 2 is now being pushed which really should have been offed to version 1 users as it was only an upgrade IMO (beware version 3 may be on the way). I feel absolutely used and conned by this. The developer didn't even offer a discount coupon for version 1 users to move over to version 2 like some good developers do. As things stand I'll avoid this developer in future!

      We offered a 50% off discount code to upgrade to version 2 of easy fog for ALL version 1 owners.

      There is no version 3 on the way and all future updates of easy fog 2 are and will be free!

      The reasoning why we did a paid update and why we had to make that decision was plastered all over our discord and email and social platforms.

      We had to 100% rewrite the whole tool and make completelly new procedural volumes, added VDBs which were not present in v1 and are actively updating the tool now.

      (version 1 was structured poorly -hence the update to a full v2 version that we are capable of updating for all future blender versions)

      Please don't post uneducated ratings and comments. We stated why the switch was made & stand behind it.

      On top of this rating you didn't reach out via the messages on blendermarket or on our discord server!

      I just hope you don't post many ratings to other developers.

    I understand the need to compensate for additional features, but the practice of initially deceiving customers regarding the price of V1, only to introduce a V2 as a separate product less than a year later, is truly objectionable. Are we to expect a V3 in the coming months? Buying add-ons already carries inherent risks, with no guarantee of ongoing support. I'm not sure we need false advertising and paid upgrades -which is exactly the case here- on top of this risk.

    I don't think it's a good business model to force existing users to buy again, no matter how many new versions are released. Even apart from the discount, this policy is a huge disappointment for those who have supported and looked forward to the future. I love the creator's vision and the potential for progress, but this policy is a huge disappointment.

    I fell for a false pre-launch promotion in April 2023, when the v1 of this product was released. I paid 9$, which was supposed to be 50% of the launch price of 18$. Shortly after launch, the price was lowered to less than what I had paid during pre-launch.

    I shrugged it off, thinking I'd at least get the free updates. There never was a single update to v1 and now that a v2 version is released as a different product, I am offered a 50% coupon.

    Thanks but I'll pass. On this and on all other Alt Tab products.

    It takes a lot of effort to build trust and very little to break it.

      sorry for the long wait...new version is out now! It comes as a seperate product since we had to rework everything. We listened to all the ratings and implemented the requested features as well as greatlly expanded the library of volumes and also included VDB's.     I love the fogs but I hate that there's an animation to them? I can't find where it is or how to slow it down so I can't use this for my scene animations :(

    I really really want to love this addon because it would just be incredibly useful, if only it were easy to lower the density of the fogs! You really have to dig around in the shader editor to make that most important adjustment. Here's hoping this happens in a next iteration of this addon. Just a simple density slider, that's all we need here!

    Nicely-shaped results, so promising. But, I've had this addon for months now expecting more logical updates but there haven't been any.

    The primary logical update is to add a density control. There is no clear way to control the fog density, and I often can't use this addon because of that lack of control. The fog will come in and be a nice shape, but it's always too strong. All I want is to be able to dial it down (and up) in a simple way. Please add that.

    Then the other logical update is to label things more accurately. Even if these menu options are more wax poetic than scientific or whatever, they'd be nicer than "fog a #2" or whatever. Call em like different vibes. Get cool with it. Like "disco mode" for that one. "Fire season" for one or something.
