Installation
- Download the Addon: Obtain the latest version of zForm from the official repository.

Install in Blender:
- Open Blender and navigate to
Edit > Preferences
. - Click on the
Add-ons
tab. - Click the
Install...
button and select the downloaded zForm.zip
file. - Enable the addon by checking the box next to
zForm
.

How to Use zForm
Step 1: Prepare Your Images
Ensure you have an image file (PNG or JPG) and its corresponding depth map (also in PNG or JPG format).
Step 2: Access the Addon
In Blender, go to the 3D Viewport.
Press N
to open the sidebar if it's not already visible.
Locate the zForm
panel in the sidebar.
Step 3: Import Your Files
- Click on the
Import Image
button within the zForm panel. - Select your image file to load it into the scene.
- Next, click on the
Import Depth Map
button. - Choose the corresponding depth map file to import.
Step 4: Configure Mesh Properties
Adjust the following parameters in the zForm panel:
- Subdivision Level: Controls the smoothness of the mesh.
- Smooth Factor: Determines how smooth the surfaces appear.
- Depth Strength: Adjusts the depth effect applied to the mesh.
Step 5: Set Material Properties (Optional)
Under the material settings section, you can fine-tune:
- Metallic: Adjust the metal-like appearance of the material.
- Roughness: Control the surface texture.
- IOR (Index of Refraction): Modify how light interacts with the material.
Step 6: Generate the 3D Mesh
After configuring the desired settings, click the Apply Depth Map
button. The addon will create a 3D mesh based on the imported image and depth map.
Step 7: View and Edit Your Mesh
Switch between different views (front, side, top) using the options in the zForm panel to examine your 3D model. You can further edit the mesh using Blender’s modeling tools.
