Willy Van Der Meeren / Tubax - Boomerang Tables (Belgian Design)

Willy Van Der Meeren, a Belgian designer who was mainly active in the post-WW2 era, had a clear goal in mind when creating many of his designs: modularity and design for everybody. His Boomerang Table set is a perfect example of modularity as the tables fit perfectly within any (Blender) scene.

Wooden table

The table is made out of painted plywood. To recreate this, a setup that procedurally mixes 3 materials is used. The top of the table is a painted wood with a light clearcoat. The side shows a classic plywood setup, and the bottom is a beautiful veneer.

Adjustable

The materials are smartly made with adjustments in mind: The painted wood has been tightly packed into an easy to use group with intuitive controls. Other than basic adjustments like colour, roughness and strength, the paint damage and edge wear can also easily be changed to your liking.

If you need a more specific setup, tap into the nodegroup and easily find your node thanks to the framed & named setup.

Three sizes

Willy Van Der Meeren designed his table set in 3 sizes that perfectly fit inside each other, to save space when the tables are not needed. This blender model follows that same principle.
