The addon has been fantastic in my experience. I ran tests since I was curious, and my render times using Turbo Tools were cut in half or better. But my favorite part of this addon is the consistent development and the fact that updates are free. Completely worth the purchase for me.

This is the best purchase so far! highly recommend, I tried rendering insane and took only about an hr with super complex scene, I tried rendering without the Turbo and took like 5 to 6 hrs to finish :D

I bought this addon today and had problems installing it on MAC Studio M2 (Blender 3.6) - I haven't tried the addon at this moment, BUT - I definitely want to mention here how excellent the developer's help and support is. I wrote to the developer here via Blendermarkt and it took me less than 10 minutes to get a reply. After a few attempts with uninstalling addons and other things I had to realize that unfortunately it still did not work. The whole time of the attempts the developer supported me! That is no longer so self-evident in today's time. Finally he recommended me to try the installation in another Blender installation (experimental). I installed the 4.0 Alpha (without any addons) - installed Turbo Tools and it worked IMMEDIATELY! So, I would like to explicitly thank Michael here for his great help and support! (sorry for my bad english), Ivo

Hi Ivo, thanks for the rating, much appreciated, and I'm glad I could help 👍

For anyone reading this, the problem was the file menu not being populated correctly due to another addon trying to also modify the menu (clean panels addon usually). Starting Blender in Factory mode and then installing Turbo Tools will also resolve the issue, because that will ensure no other addons are installed. After that you can re-enable the other addons until you find the one that is conflicting, and then leave that one off, or you can leave the conflicting addon installed and use the f12 and ctrl f12 shortcuts to launch renders instead of launching from the menu.

The addon is compatible with 2.93 all the way to 4.0 Alpha on all operating systems 👍

This addon has saved me hours of frustration. It is fantastic for speeding up render times. Question: does this not work with the transparent field ticked?

Thanks for the 5 star rating. Yes the addon is fully compatible with transparency for both rendering and publishing with the temporal stabiliser. The temporal stabiliser does require vector data though, so if you have semi transparent materials, ensure you have set the Cycles alpha threshold accordingly (it tells cycles to create vector data through semi transparent materials). You can find out more about that in the user manual's troubleshooting section in the area titled Object behind Transparent objects don't stabilise correctly 👍

This addon is a life changer and well worth a money. The denoising at low sample rates keeps every detail that would have been lost with Blender's native denoising.

The results are undeniably amazing, but I can't give this 5 stars for a couple of reasons.

    1) It doesn't actually affect the rendering part of the process; the magic is achieved in compositing. The video claiming that the GTX1070 beat RTX4090 is just not true. Detail retention via compositing is not the same as a head-to-head competition in rendering speed, and when it comes to animation, the 4090 will still win.

    2) Compositing is unfortunately still restricted to CPU processing, and with the amount of work being done behind the scenes by this add-on to create such spectacular results, it can be incredibly taxing on your hardware.

Even after buying a Noctua cooler just to use the add-on more safely, it can still cause temps to rise above 70C, at least during initialization, which could become a very big and expensive problem if you don't already have one of the best coolers available.

Once GPU compositing becomes more widely available, I will be glad to change my review to to reflect the extended capability of this add-on.

Hi, thanks for the review. You're quite right, the addon doesn't give the 1070 gpu the same performance as a 4090, but it does allow it to produce similar quality results in the same amount of render time. This is achievable due the automatic render settings that are designed specifically for Turbo Render's advanced denoising system. Basically it renders faster because it's able to use far fewer samples thanks to the advanced denoising system.

Regarding the CPU temperatures, I wouldn't worry too much about brief spurts of 70 degrees. A constant 70 to 80 degrees is typical for any intensive workload or high end video games. In the case of Turbo Render, it's far less demanding than that because it only happens briefly at the end of every rendered frame. Good news though, the Blender developers are currently implementing GPU support in the compositor, so once that's available, I'll implement immediately 👍
