Tartan Material Nodes

by Vicente Cosmen Ugidos in Surfacing

How to import the group node:

Append the Node Groups to your file to use them.

How to create a fabric pattern:

First of all your model must have an UVMap

Add a texture coordinate or UVMap node and Vector scale and fraction node and connect them like this image, you can control the scale and repetitions of the pattern with the scale value in the vector scale node

Add a TartanLine or TartanQuad node to your material and set the parameters as you want

continue adding as many lines and squares as you need to create your own pattern

Add the TartanNormalsRougness Node to your material and connect it like this image, set the parameters as you want.

And done... you have your own Tartan fabric pattern!

Parameters:

Base Color: Image or base color of the pattern, you can use also a checker texture like in some of the predefined patterns

Color2: Second line plot color

Color2Alpha: Opacity of the secon line color

Vector: UvMap connector

Position: Position of the line, if is mirrored (all quads are mirrored) show the line in both sides

Width: Width of the line

Angle: Angle of the plot

Density: Scale of the plot

Percent: Size of the lines plot

Mirrored (Only for lines): Determine if you create another line in the opposite side, any non-zero value is mirrored
