Installation Instructions |

1. Download Surface_Freak..zip and put it wherever you would like.

You do not need to unzip to install the add-on.

2. Open Blender. Go "Edit" -> "Preferences", then click "Add-ons", and then click "Install..."

3. Locate Surface_Freak..zip and select "Install Add-on"

4. Wait a moment for the Add-on to appear in the preferences window, then check the box to enable Surface Freak

User Guide |

1. Locate the add-on in the Material Properties

  • You will need to have a mesh object selected to see the material properties and the add-on UI

2. At any time, you can make a selection and press “Get Freaky”. It will create a new abstract material and add it to your selection. It will replace your current material, but it won’t delete it, it will just replace it in the material assignment window.

3. You can choose to generate with random colors, or you can assign a color palette to be assigned when randomizing color elements in a node arrangement.

Keep pressing the button until you get something you like, and you can freak it to your liking in the shader editor. You can generate multiple materials at once by selecting more than one object. That’s all there is to it!
