  WARNING!

  When you buy this addon by Chipp Walters, you will be forced to surrender some of your private information in order to download it and use it. Same as with Design Magic, maybe others too, I don't know. Let me repeat, Chipp Walters is not going to let you download your purchase unless you agree to surrender additional information. Your purchase will not appear in your blendermarket account ready to download as with every other products. There will be a link, with a google forms to fill in. If you give in your "true and factual" name and email address, then and only then will you be allowed to access your purchase.

  BlenderMarket has been aware of this situation now (I told them on Dec 3, 2024)
  My honest complaint to Chipp Walters resulted in forced products refunds made by Chipp. No discussion, explanation, nothing. He replied "Please ask for a refund. ." This is copy paste his whole email!

  Adrian Bellworthy was offered a full refund and declined it. He consistently complained to everyone who would listen about this issue.

  I explained it very clearly. There is also a healthy readme file that goes into great detail for all of this, which evidently he never did read.

  The basics are that It is difficult for Blender Market to be able to host large groupings of files and many times file groupings are necessary for some of our products. In order to provide access to these files, we simply ask that you log into your own Google drive where you can access a shared folder with you and you can download not only the files but also any updates.

  Adrian also emailed Blender Market admin multiple times with all sorts of threats and accusations and they responded to him with this email:

  "Thanks for reaching out,
  The use of webhooks and offsite downloads is normally practice on Blender Market for products that exceed the 5GB limit available per product.
  The creator is basically asking you to agree to not sharing the file link and any other relevant information such as the credentials and license for unauthorized access to the download.

  I hope this helps understand this process and that we only allow trusted creators on Blender Market to offer their product downloads in this way."

  Still, Adrian was not happy, sending out more emails and threats.

  Furthermore he received refunds of not only this product but also other products of mine as well, including those that do not use Gdrive. Asking politely and without threats is certainly a better way to behave in our community.

  The info on the READ ME FIRST file don't match the content of the folder. I'm going crazy with this installation and I have NO time to make this working, is there a tut? I'm on a Mac at the moment.

  What an intelligent thing !

  This is so well made once installed that even if I had a lot of troubles at start , I rate this 5 STARS .

  Just note that some creators of external DPACKS have a wrong folder organization and that you must choose only the GEN- or other abreviation folders. In my case, the DPACK was in a subfolder where KPACK were also. I unpacked it like this in the DPACK folder and it bugged the addon of Chip . It's not Chipp's fault but the DPACK creator that forgot to give documentations about how to integrate his folders. I thought the addon was automatically searching for the DPACK even if there is other files but no . So you must respect the folder names. I figured this is not Chipp's fault but I feel it may be the reason of some poor ratings complaining about lack of infos. Chipp's addon is the motor. He can't be blamed for a gas station giving you water mixed with gas. That should be understood and even by me that took 2-3 hours to figure that.

  Once installed, this addon is awesome and works like it's shown. Even for me having Geoscatter for pro work , this addon can still be a lot usefull for specific things like HUGE HUGE sceneries or ... some packs are not as good in biomes selections . It makes more things to scatter and the quality is not bad looked from distance.

  The little deception yet is maybe that the quality from proximity seemed to me a bit basic , like lacking of some more shiny look in Cycles and maybe a bit too much shiny in EEVEE. Didn't test it a lot but at least , I think we can unlock the models and just modify the roughness of textures. We will maybe limit the number of possible spawned objects but for some scenes , a bit more shine and reflections would maybe be appreciated. I'll test a bit more but frankly for 20$ US , it's fair fair fair. Less options in N-Menu than Geoscatter but not the same thing exactly , not the same price and it still has it's usage. In most situations that are common , this addon is excellent and cheaper.

  The first quality of this is that you can spawn huge things like a giga city , not just a nice city taxing a lot the GPU . You have sometimes to disable texture display in the viewport but for the amount of things out there , it's totally normal. Geoscatter would probably stutter a lot too before .. .

  Don't just hesitate because some bad reviews , it's a good choice but watch out about the structure of DPACKS folders you add ... be sure there is not a sub-folder in between containing other things. It's not an official Xbox game , external DPACK producers are not all connected to Chipp's and doing necessarely by the book.

  I hope Kit Ops 3 Pro is as usefull as this Scifi Flex V2 addon .

  Please ask for a refund and I'll gladly give it to you. Please read below for the reason for why I store these files somewhere else. There is no mechanism available in Blender Market to allow me to do otherwise.

  There are many, many assets that come with Scifi Flex2. They are updated from time to time. Unfortunately, Blender Market's ability to handle a ton of assets is very poor and they make it almost impossible. And if I zip it all into one, it becomes a huge file and often the upload times out so the files never reach Blender Market.

  So, I've decided to host the assets somewhere where I can easily update them and let customers search for just the most recent ones. This makes it easy for everyone. Still, I can't just post all the files to a public URL-- I need to have some secure way of protecting them-- and that is why I ask for your email. I am not harvesting it-- in fact if I want to email you I can do that easily from within Blender Market. They have a utility for this. I hope this puts your mind to ease.

  Don't get me wrong...I'm SO glad I bought this. This product actually deserves 10 stars. But I'm giving it only one star to get your attention. There is no #$@&^ documentation for this, literally ANYWHERE!!! Having to figure it out with no help file was EXCRUCIATING!!! I was dying to jump right in and start designing, but it took me two days to figure out on my own what I was doing wrong before I got it to work. I shouldn't have to watch a bunch of videos to find out that you can't change the DPACK file names, or that you have to open your saved file, find the collection folder and append GEOGEN to the project file. You're a genius, so that step may not be as obvious as you might think. This information needs to be written down somewhere. If I could've found it in a sentence, it would've saved me a lot of wasted time.

  There is no documentation on this Blender Market site. I've tried getting these links to work on three different computers and an iPad. They're as dead as fried chicken. There's no contact link on your website that allows anybody to let you know that something is wrong. Your Discord links don't work either. The http://cw1.me/troubleshoot link is dead. The Google doc links give me a "404 page not found" error. You're a business, so it shouldn't be this hard to report a problem. At the very least, if you're not gonna update your site links, could you PLEASE just include a copy of the PDF documentation in your download folder? This is without question the most wonderful piece of software engineering I've ever purchased, but I shouldn't have to scream to use it. You're the Black Magician, a Sci-Fi Einstein, so I know you've got the instructions written down somewhere. Please let me have a copy of it. 🫤

  Gina, I am so sorry you had so much trouble. We use a GoDaddy URL shortener so we don't have to paste in long URLs and also so that we can redirect to new docs when we do an update. Your comment alerted us to the fact that they weren't working. GoDaddy did an update on their servers and killed dozens of our shortened URLs. Ugh-- working on it now and it should be fixed within 24 hours I am told.

  Chip Walters is a gift to the Blender community and developers. I had no idea this add-on was updated as I've been focusing on 2D animation this past year and didn't have time to focus on Blender. I Just downloaded the new update and I am completely blown away by its improved amazing functionality, displacement maps, features, top-notch quality and fully customizable sci-fi scenes complete with buildings, cities and grids. If you found this page on the market, stop hesitating and purchase. It's an investment that will dramatically improve your workflow pipeline. This Rocks!
