This modifier is also packed into my addon "Garlandery", which also includes a bunch of other modifers, like Fir, Cobwebs, Chains, Ropes / Cables, Lightning bolts, Electric cables and Particle Flows.

Simple fairy lights or simple object chain (Geometry nodes modifier)

!!! This is not a model itself, but rather than a geometry-nodes modifier, which lets you put objects on vertices of a mesh or a curve.

Turn everything (curve or mesh) into a fairy lights-chain or chain with objects on it, like a jewelry chain.

Firstly designed as a "fairy lights"-chain, I kept the name and improved it to be able to put any object (collection) on vertices. To be able to adjust it with random size ranges, random rotation ranges, subdivisions, cable.

The geometry nodes-modifier is stackable and can also be used on objects which are used as objects for the chain. See the gallery (Suzanne-object).
