Sci-Fi Missile Launcher Tank

by PBR3D in Models

Rigged Elements

  • Root - This bone moves Entire model
  • Body - Use this bone to move the body independently of the track gear, constrained to give a slight amount of rocking side to side - front to back and vertically.
  • Top Rotation - Use this bone to rotate the turret around its local Y axis (vertical)
  • Turret Angle - This bone adjusts the angle of the missile launchers from horizontal to nearly vertical (All constrained)
  • Satellite_Bone - This bone controls the small plate on top from laying flat to being in it's deployed position.
  • Hatch_(L or R) - These 6 bones open and close the gun ports. They are also constrained to not open or close too far and can be used separately.
  • Wheel Bones - These bones are all hidden on Layer 2, and simply rotate the correct amount when the root bone is moved along a straight path forward or backwards.

Non-Rigged Elements

  • Tracks - the tracks are a static mesh (parented to stay with the rest of tank) for somebody better at rigging than myself, it will likely be an easy job to rig. However I could not create a convincing track movement so decided that static tracks were better than wrongly rigged ones which would need re-rigging.
  • main hatch - This is not rigged as there is no hole beneath it in which to open into.

I hope this gives you a good idea of what to expect from this model, and what you may still decide you are happy with or want to improve. If you have any questions then i'm on hand 7 days per week to answer them.
