Rock Scatter is the easiest way to scatter rocks or stones on any surface you want, it comes with foliage tool that allows to scatter the stones on some parts of the surface selected using weight paint

The Project Below comes with this Addon for free if you purchase the addon as a demo in DEMO.zip

Rock scatter is so simple, you do not need any tutorial to use it, just common sense and an intermediate understanding of Blender Workflow

How to use the Paint Tool

Select the mesh you want the rocks to be scattered, and click the Paint Rocks Button at the bottom of the Rock Settings Panel,

you will be directed to the weight paint view,

draw where you want your rocks or stones to be

and finally click the Paint Rocks Button Again and see it in action

For better results make sure you have a red color on your paint, the more red the more rocks
