How to use Addon?

Generate Ocean TAB

In the beginning, you won't see any presets. Click the refresh button for the presets to appear. This is done to optimize the add-on.

After clicking on the image, a menu with presets will appear, where you can choose the ocean that interests you.

"Place at World Origin": Generates the ocean at the center of the scene with coordinates 0, 0, 0.

"Place at 3D Cursor": Generates the ocean at the position of the 3D Cursor, allowing manual placement.

"Generate Ocean": Creates the selected ocean preset at the specified location.

Generate Settings TAB

"Repeat": Replicates the ocean in the X and Y axes with varying generated objects to maintain coherence.

"Resolution": Adjusts the level of detail in the grid, affecting realism and simulation behavior. Higher resolutions require more computational power.

"Depth": Simulates shallower waters by generating higher-frequency details and smaller waves.

"Scale": Scales the overall size of the ocean surface without changing wave characteristics or simulation behavior.

"Spatial Size": Determines the width of the simulated ocean surface and the size of the grid or shifted area.

"Seed": Generates different outcomes while maintaining the same settings, allowing for random variations and diverse simulations.

"Foam": Toggles the generation of foam on the ocean surface.

"Coverage": Adjusts the amount of foam covering the waves, with negative values decreasing coverage and positive values increasing it.

"Scale Max": Sets the maximum scale of the waves, controlling the overall size and magnitude of the waves in the ocean.

"Scale Min": Sets the minimum possible wave scale to ensure even the smallest waves are included in the generated ocean.

"Choppiness": Determines the roughness of wave crests, adding realism by introducing variations and irregularities.

"Wind Velocity": Represents the speed of the wind, affecting wave intensity and simulating its effect on the ocean's surface.

"Noises": Selects the wave spectrum model, allowing for experimentation with different wave characteristics and ocean visuals.

Material Settings TAB

"Main color": Controls water color in the ocean.

"Specular Strength": Adjusts reflection intensity. Higher values enhance reflections, while lower values reduce them.

"Roughness Strength": Determines water surface texture. Lower values create smoother surfaces with clear reflections, while higher values create rougher surfaces with less distinct reflections.

"Normal Map Strength": Controls small wave intensity using a normal map. Higher values add prominent small waves, while lower values reduce their visibility.

"IOR Map Strength": Adjusts index of refraction (IOR) map strength, affecting light bending and refraction in the ocean. Changing it controls refraction intensity.

"Transmission Map Strength": Controls material transparency. Lower values make it more opaque, while higher values increase transparency, allowing more light to pass through and reveal submerged elements.

"Foam Color" - color of ocean foam.

"Foam Roughness" - controls the roughness of ocean foam.

"Objects Foam Strength" - determines the extent and strength of foam formation around objects in the ocean.

"Ocean Foam Strength" - controls the overall intensity of foam throughout the ocean, affecting its presence and visibility.

"Foam Scale Texture" - adjusts the size of foam details in the ocean.

"Waves Deep" - simulates wave depth at specific locations.

"Wake Start Noise Scale" - controls the level of detail in the wake water.

"Wake End Noise Scale" - determines the level of detail in the foam dissipation within the wake.

"Emission Ocean Strength" - controls the color and intensity of light emitted by the ocean water.

"Emission Foam Strength" - controls the color and intensity of light emitted by the ocean foam.

Animation Settings TAB

"Waves Animation" - controls the movement and animation of the ocean waves.

"Foam Animation" - controls the movement and animation of the foam texture on the ocean surface.

Physics Settings TAB

"Add Ocean Physics" button is used to add ocean physics exclusively to an object that represents an ocean.

"Add Object Physics" button is used to add physics to objects that will interact with the ocean.

"Spread Speed" directly adjusts the simulation speed without affecting the simulation outcome. Lower values cause the simulation to run slower and differently.

"Scale Influence" is used to adjust brush settings individually for each surface.

"Radius" is used to adjust brush settings individually for each surface.

"Time To Out" is the time it takes for foam to dissipate. The higher the value, the less residue wakes the object leaves behind.

"Frame Start" specifies the frame from which the simulation begins.

"Frame End" specifies the frame at which the simulation ends.

"Sub-Steps" refers to additional samples taken between frames. They are usually required when the simulation is very fast.

"Anti-Aliasing" is used to smooth edges using a 5× multisampling method.

"Bake Physics" button bakes your physics with the current settings, allowing you to save and render the simulation.

"Delete Physics" button removes the baked physics that you have created.

Remember!

For Bake to work, your project must be saved on the disk!
Baked physics works for a specific mesh. Decreasing or increasing the resolution or editing the mesh will cause the simulation to stop working, and you will have to bake it again from scratch!
