Proc Clock

by Nodes and noodles in Surfacing

A working clock in a single shader node!

Analogue and digital versions.

Create a procedural, parallax, clock in a material by dropping in a Proc. Clock node. That's it! It's literally that easy.

The clocks are fully customisable with settings for all the features like time and speed, colours and sizes, number style and arrangement, and they have built-in parallax depth as well!

To animate the clock, simply:

  1. click on the Frame input, type #frame and press Enter.
  2. Set the FPS input to match that of your .blend file.

The major features of the clock can be adjusted from the node's input panel. To change finer details, simply TAB into the node and you'll see Numbers, Ticks, and Hands nodes from which you can change the appearance of these features.

To use Proc. Clock in your project:

  1. Click File then Append.
  2. Browse to your downloaded Proc. Clock.blend file and double-click on it.
  3. Open the Nodetree folder and import the Proc. Clock nodetree.
  4. The Proc. Clock node will now be available from the Add Node menu in the Shader Editor.
