1. Download the provided .zip file

2. In Blender go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Install (Locate the .zip file and install it)

3. Highly recommended but not necessary:

3.1 Go to Edit > Keymap > Search for "View Navigation (Walk/Fly)" > Change the shortcut to something that suits you

3.2 This will make it easier to switch between modes

4. In the N-Panel (press N if not visible) you will find the Add-on called POV

5. Here you can change the parameters to your desire.

5.1 Make sure to hit "Apply" when changing these settings:

- Set Gravity

- View Height

- Set View Height

6. To reset the values just hit the "Reset Values" button

7. A feature that is added is in the "Object Context Menu":

7.1 In "3D Viewport" select your camera in the "User Perspective" (not the camera view"

7.2 Right click to open the "Object Context Menu"

7.3 Select "POV" at the bottom of the menu

7.4 Now you will be in the camera mode and zoomed in

7.5 At the bottom of the window you'll see Blenders help for navigation

- WASD: to move around

- Spacebar: to teleport

- Tab: to toggle gravity on/off

- V: to jump

7.6 LMB (Left Mouse Button) will confirm your view and RMB will cancel it

- Now you can change some setting in the N-Panel if needed

- Use the shortcut from step 3 to go back into Walk/Fly mode

7.7 To go back completely hit the "Back to Previous" button on top of the screen next to "Help"

8. Bonus Tip: Record your movements with "Auto Keying"

8.1 Open up a "Timeline" tab

8.2 Set the end frame to something like 10.000

8.3 Turn on "Auto Keying" (first symbol that is to the right of "Marker")

8.4 Hit play

8.5 Use the shortcut from step 3 to go into "Walk/Fly" mode

8.6 Move around as you wish with or without gravity

8.6 Once done moving around press LMB

8.7 Stop the Anim. Player

8.8 Adjust the keyframes to your need

PRO-TIPS:

  • Walk speed: Convert km/h to m/s    ->    10 (km/h) / 3.6    ->    2,7 m/s
  • Change the focal length to around 21-23mm to recreate the human vision
