Polylink - Blender To Unreal Engine Exporter
Installation
Download and Extract the Addon
• Download the PolyLink addon package (a .zip file) from your purchase or download source.
• Extract the .zip file to a location on your computer. Inside, you’ll find the main addon file (PolyLink.py).
Open Blender
• Launch Blender on your computer.
Install the Addon
• Go to Edit > Preferences in the Blender menu.
• In the Preferences window, navigate to the Add-ons tab.
• Click the Install… button at the top-right corner of the Add-ons tab.
• Browse to the extracted folder, select the PolyLink.py file, and click Install Add-on.
Enable the Addon
• Once installed, locate the PolyLink addon in the list (search for “PolyLink” in the search bar).
• Check the box next to the addon name to enable it.
Save Preferences (Optional)
• Click the Save Preferences button at the bottom-left corner of the Preferences window to keep the addon enabled the next time you open Blender.
How to Use PolyLink
Setup
• After enabling the addon, you’ll find the PolyLink options in the Object Context Menu (right-click menu in the 3D Viewport) or in the side menu under the PolyLink tab.
• Use the “Setup Blender to Unreal Export” option to define the Unreal Engine project path.
Export Objects
• Select one or multiple objects in your scene.
• Right-click and choose Export to Unreal from the PolyLink menu.
• The addon will export the selected objects to the defined Unreal Engine project path.
Live Link
• Enable Live Link for real-time updates between Blender and Unreal Engine.
• Any changes made to selected objects will automatically synchronize with Unreal at regular intervals.
Please note: live link is not for full workflow of using blender to update Unreal. You need to export your blender object(s) then when you enable live link it will remove the need for continuous exporting manually as this automatically updates every 3 seconds, this however can cause some slowness and lagging so only use when for example you are trying to resize something or add extra features, anything like material change etc will need to be re-exported.
Folder Management
• Use options like Add New Folder and Export to organize your exports efficiently.
• Select a folder or create a new one directly within the addon before exporting.
