Planetgen V2

USER INTERFACE

This is The UI you get When You Install Planet Gen V2 Add-on. To create a planet choose if you’re going basic advanced or if you have your own textures you can go image based.

Now let’s say I’m going to create an advanced planet. For that I need to add an “advanced surface”,” advanced clouds” and “advanced atmosphere”

Now you have a planet of yours. Now you can see a lot of settings under the buttons. To edit the planet open the tabs of the presets you added in this case that would be these.

Now to edit you can tweak these settings and see what works for you. It’s pretty self-explanatory.

Have a go yourself.

Now if you’re wondering what’s these basic planet and advanced planet and all that are. The basic planet will give you simple planet that will render fast but with less detail.

And the advanced planet will give you a planet with more detail and more settings such as procedural land generation and much more but it will take a little bit of time to render.

If you have your own textures you can add the “image based surface”

And you can see there is a tab for “image based surface” it is suggested that you use this if you’re new to blender. On the top right corner you can see 3 image textures color map, roughness map, bump map

Select and plug in your new textures and there you go you created a planet with your textures.

Elements

Working with Basic elements

Basic elements are to create a basic planet with procedurally mapped textures, clouds and atmosphere. As the name suggests Basic options are to create planets for low end pc or if you don’t have to have more detailed planet surface, atmosphere clouds etc.

Working with Advanced Elements

We need spectacular quality render that we need to use in our animation, advertisement or anywhere we have to use an imaginary planet out of our own wildest imagination, don’t worry just simple tweaks in Planet Gen V2. A procedural planet of high quality is ready.

Working with Image Based Planet

Image based planet menu is for realistic planet rendering, bring on the highest quality texture of a planet, that’s all… Add-on would do the rest for you.
