Requirements

PencilText requires Blender 2.73

Installation

• From the file menu, choose "User Preferences"
• Click on the "Addons" Menu
• Click on the "Install from file"
• Browse to downloaded file
• Once loaded up, click the checkbox to activate the addon
• Click "Save User Settings" to save your changes

Usage

In the 3D window, open the properties shelf (N key), look in the Grease Pencil panel. There will be a new section marked 'Pencil Text'

  To Insert Text at the 3d Cursor

1. Enter your custom text it in the first text box of the add-on
2. Set the desired grease color and size in the add-on
3. Click the button to the right of the text box
4. The text will be created and traced with the grease pencil using the current settings

To Insert a Block of Pre-Typed Text at the 3d Cursor

1. Create a text block in the text editor containing the text you want to insert
2. Return to the 3D viewport
3. Select the text block name from the second box
4. Set the desired grease color and size in the add-on
5. Click the button to the right of the text block name
6. The text will be created and traced with the grease pencil using the current settings

To Trace an Object with the Grease Pencil

1. Select the object to be traced in the 3d window
2. Set the desired grease color in the add-on
3. Click the button next to "Object to Grease"
4. The object's edges will be traced with the grease pencil
