Parametric Walls - Forest Cabin Bundle
I. OBJECTIVE:
This scene should serve as a template/guide scene for generating parametric slat walls in all the ways we use it. This collection of setups is for making parametric facades, walls, ceilings, or partitions in Blender.
II. ABOUT:
We present a complex scene of the exterior of a cabin house with a parametric wall applied to a real project for production. The model contains 40 parametric wall examples with presets for generating YOUR walls of any dimensions and size. In the video, you can see an illustrative example of one of the ways to modify the shape of templates.
III. CONTENT OF PARAMETRIC WALL SYSTEMS:
We have currently covered the basic methods of creating slat wall setups. It is mostly a series of modifiers with the combination of some limits, that you can edit yourself and thus completely change the resulting appearance of the wall. There are several examples in each category.
We divide the slat wall design method into the following parts:
A) Generation purely using modifiers (2walls+2templates)
B) Manual adjustment of the wall using proportional editing (8walls+2templates)
C) Limiting modifiers - shrink/wrap (9walls+1template)
D) Procedural texture generation (6walls+1template)
E) Generation by raster graphics (1wall+1template)
F) Scripting in Sverchok (1wall+1template)
G) Pattern Walls/No Slats (13walls+6templates)
IV. ASSET CONTENT:
All visible assets on renders are the content of the blend project file.
The scene was used for presentation to the client. As a complement to the walls, all the 3d staffing is left in it.
All assets are equipped with high-resolution textures in 4K with a set of Diffuse, Normal, and Roughness maps.

V. FOLIAGE / PARTICLE SYSTEMS:
Grasses were modeled from straws using textures from AmbientCG. The stalks are prepared into bunches of grass, already easily usable for your projects, in variants of green grass (low, medium, thick tall), dead grass, and yellow grass. Trees generated by the Mtree addon (15 different trees/4 categories) are generated in an external file in Blender 3.3, where you can easily retexture, and edit them.
VI. REAL FABRICATION:
This Cabin is a project for serial production for a real client. The entire task, the original idea, and the concept are the responsibility of professional joiner Petr Mochán, who you can contact directly requesting production on the Instagram profile: @mochan.petr. The construction is completely feasible and can be brought directly to your property, where it will be completed.
VII. PERFORMANCE:
Our setup is:

We render with Cycles and via GPU with 512 samples. The final rendering of the entire scene in a resolution of 3384x5076px took 15 minutes.
VIII. LAB:
The entire scene of our studio now serves as a laboratory. We have a well-prepared composition based on many references, decent ambient natural daylight, and complete scenery of the surroundings. Everything is prepared. There is no need to spend tens of hours on things that are just "addition" to a design. We're trying new quick concepts and renders on this tiny house. Now it can also serve you.
We created the scene so that we can customize parts of it. Mainly in the preparation of particle systems and displacement, which we always set up again and again.
IX. OPTIONS:
The models of slat walls are vividly applied to the case of a building opening, so they will work in a situation with or without windows or doors. An opening is just a live Boolean operation.
You can turn it off.
X. CREDITS

1.1. THE FOG
Have you seen moving fog animations and wondered how to achieve them? Did you solve overhead perspectives and wanted to render clouds in the visualization? To address these issues, the first 3D scene update is here. The 3d fog/clouds setup will now be an optional part of the whole scene. Everything is also set up for animation, so you can use the principle in your scenes as well. Enjoy it.
