Tutorial: How to Use Fake Parallax in Blender
Step 1: Setting Up the Node
- Open your project in Blender and locate the Fake Parallax node you created.
- Drag the node into your shader editor.
Step 2: Connecting the Node
- Place the Fake Parallax node between the mapping node and the displacement node.
- Connect the color output of the Fake Parallax to the color input of the displacement node.
Step 3: Configuring the Textures
- For all textures, change the mapping type to "box."
- Make sure the mapping is set to “Object.” Don’t forget to map the displacement as well.
Step 4: Adjusting the Fake Parallax Settings
- Invert Displacement: If needed, use the "Invert Disp" option to reverse the map.
- Toggle Parallax On/Off: Use the "On/Off" option to disable the parallax when necessary.
- Intensity (Power): Adjust the intensity of the effect using the "Power" option to make it weaker or stronger.
- Layer: Use the "Layer" option to move the texture along the Z-axis.
- Layer Detail: Increase the "Layer Detail" to intensify the distortion.
- Extra Power: Use the "Extra Power" option to boost the parallax effect, adjusting the extra power layer control as needed.
Step 5: Testing and Refining
- Preview your scene and make adjustments as necessary.
- Experiment with different settings to see what works best for your project.
