Blender's support for vector displacement map brushes is very new and does, unfortunately, not support applying VDMs and textures at the same time. Therefore, it is very difficult to align textures in sculpting mode with the geometry of the VDM. However, color textures can be used with geometry node vector displacement because it offers accurate control over VDM and texture placement.
