Ignitefx Flame Generator
Once the Add-On is installed, A new panel named IgniteFX will be added to the N-Side bar. It is only visible in the 3D Viewport.
The first click on the Flames button appends the needed components together with their associated files into your project. As you can see on the Outliner their is an object named Flame_FX, and it is put in a collection named IgniteFX. They are hidden both in viewport and render by default.
If you come back to the N-Panel, you see that there is now an option for customizing the flames, and a button (Delete) for removing/deleting all associated files for the flame. You only delete the files if you donāt need them any more in your project. If you delete the associated files, it means that all the objects in the scene will lose the flames data.
There is a warning, āDonāt rename the appended filesā. If you do, you will run into errors because the Python scripts in this add-on rely on those names in order to function.
Assigning flames to objects
Once the needed files have been appended into your project, select an object in the viewport the click on Flames button.
To get what you like, adjust values in the CUSTOMIZE section
You remove the flame effect from an object by selecting it first then click on Remove Flames.
You will get this artifact in Cycles
And their is a fix...
To fix that: Increase the Transparent value in Light Paths' Max Bounces.
How to hide an object with the flame effect
Assign it a transparent material first. Still on the Material properties, go down to viewport display, then Settings. Set Blend mode to Alpha Blend, and Shadow mode to None.
Changing Color of the flames
On the Outliner select Flame_FX object. Go to the shader editor to adjust its material. Here you will find a node group named Flame_FX Mat. Select the node group and press TAB in order to edit the node group.
Once you press TAB, you will see two Color Ramp nodes placed this these coloured frames. The one in the red frame is the one you will adjust. Donāt touch the one in the blue frame yet. If you have adjusted the top and you are finding it hard to get back to the ādefaultā flame color, then just replace it with the bottom Color Ramp in the blue frame.
