It's just a shader with very little documentation and design, and most of the time, it doesn't even apply correctly to the character (DAZ G9). Besides that, there's no way to control certain aspects when it does work, like the fact that your character looks like they've had a few rough, sleepless weeks under the influence, and dehydration has kicked in.

      Hello EJ,

We’re sorry to read about your experience, and thank you for reaching out via inbox after leaving a one-star review. That said, we feel the review is a bit unfair as we cannot control your workflow to make it match exactly with the advertised renders. However, I’ll respond here the same as I did privately.

To summarize, we have several examples on our YouTube channel where we simply import the character, apply an HDRI, and the skin looks great. Here’s one such example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aU_Y2oy6iY

I strongly recommend using Diffeomorphic, a free bridge addon between Daz3D and Blender that will greatly streamline and improve your workflow. It’s also a perfect complement to GlobalSkin.

We’ve created a tool that, when used correctly, allows you to achieve the advertised results, how you choose to use the tool is beyond our control.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any further questions via inbox. We’ll be happy to assist. Wishing you a great day!

I bought this addon to work with Human Generator in Blender. The Addon is very limited in what it controls at the Blender N-panel level. And in essence really just applies the complex skin shader to the Human Generator model whilst also allowing the user the choose the way bump / displacement of skin is used in the shader.

The Global Skin shader is large and complex with lots of options and it can deliver good results but you need to be familiar with using shader nodes IMO. It is also complicated and it is easy to get in a mess giving hideous skin results without being able to easily reset back to any default starting levels etc.

It can be used to apply a superior skin shader than the one that comes with Human Generator but takes a bit of knowledge and tweaking. However once it is applied to the Human Generator model it breaks some of the Human Generator functions used to adjust the model. I've reached out to The Developer of Global Skin about this but they've politely not offered any real fix or solution. The Human Generator Developer indicated that they had started looing into this but not resolved the issue.

In summary Global Skin is an advanced shader setup with a very minimal N-panel interface not doing much as everything in done in the material shading space. It would be good to see this improved so skin presets could be called upon / set by user to use as starting points and also have a better UI with more functionality (like Human Generator has). That, along and the price being high IMO for the state it is in now is why I give it three stars otherwise it would have been 4 starts (5 stars with all fixed).

Great addon, only one thing I can't figure out. I use Daz for my character models, and when I apply the textures with the GlobalSkin addon, everything is applied correctly except for the finger nails, which are not textured correctly. I end up having to move the fingernail UV islands manually and switch up some things in the shader editor. Is there a fix to this or something I could be doing wrong?

I purchased GlobalSkin a few days ago. To clarify, I have both HumanGen and CC4. With HumanGen, I haven’t encountered any issues, but I can’t get GlobalSkin to work properly with CC4.

I’ve tried exporting characters in different ways, including using the Blender Pipeline for CC4, as well as exporting to OBJ and FBX formats. However, no matter the method, when I apply the GlobalSkin shader, the texture only appears on the head, and it’s in very poor quality.

As recommended in your responses to reviews on Blender Market, I’ve been applying the shader with the “Bump Only” function. I’ve also tried deleting all the native CC4 textures and replacing them, and even separated the mesh into torso, head, arms, and legs. Unfortunately, the textures still apply with very poor quality, and there are visible seams where the textures don’t align correctly.

I couldn’t find any detailed tutorials on how to properly use your shader—only YouTube videos where the add-on appears to work seamlessly without explaining the exact process.

Additionally, regarding HumanGen, although the textures apply correctly, there are noticeable lines on areas like the nose and shoulders, giving the impression that the mesh is low-poly or “blocky,” even though it isn’t.

I hope to resolve these issues soon, as I’d love to update my rating to 5 stars.

Thank you in advance for your help.

      Hello Davide,

We’re sorry to hear about this. Regarding the issues you've experienced, you could have reached out to us directly here: https://blendermarket.com/creators/blendify, and we would have resolved them easily. However, we’ll do our best to assist you here:

Regarding CC4, you simply need to set the Shader format to "Bump Only," which it seems you’ve done. However, you may have missed increasing the "Displacement" level to Weight 1.0. Once adjusted, it should work for CC4 just like the others.

For HumanGenerator, the "blocky" appearance happens because our shader includes scattering, and the HumanGenerator mesh has very few polygons. Simply applying a subdivision to the mesh will eliminate this issue.

I believe this should resolve the problems you mentioned.

Hi team! I seem to have a problem adding it into my add ons. its not finding, what should i do? I followed the tutorial video but no result

Hello Maya, have you followed the tutorial video included? And did you unzip both files simultaneously with WinRAR? If you do this, there shouldn’t be any issues—both files at once with WinRAR. Certainly, that may be the issue. Additionally, Maya, if you encounter further problems, feel free to reach out to us directly on our creator page at https://blendermarket.com/creators/blendify. This approach is not only beneficial for us, but also for other add-ons or creators you may wish to support in the future, as leaving a one-star review just to ask a question can be somewhat unfair. We hope your issue has been resolved.

The developers of this are fairly condescending. Unpleasant experience.

Hello Alex, I am including a screenshot of our conversation here " https://imgur.com/kS6SwDT " as we feel your review is somewhat unfair. We don’t want future customers who might trust us to change their mind based on misleading information.

Your interaction with us started by asking if you could export maps, and we responded that you have access to them in the add-on without any issue. I even shared a screenshot of them with you. Later, you requested additional screenshots, even though the information you asked for was already included in the previous message. You then reacted in an overly disproportionate manner, as though we had insulted you, We responded with the utmost courtesy, something that, in contrast, was not reciprocated from your side.

I hope things go well for you. Regards.

I'm not sure if im using the addon wrong but as someone who uses Character Creator 4 i've experimented with different characters and this addon doesn't seem to work at all. (it makes the faces actually look less realistic) The discord seems to have changed or been taken down so i can't even ask anyone for advice.

      Hello Dimitri,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue, but please note that our Discord is active. Additionally, you could have contacted us directly via Blendify on Blender Market ( https://blendermarket.com/creators/blendify ) , where we respond to all questions or issues daily. However lets solve the issue, we haven't received any messages from you.

That said, let's try to resolve the issue here through the reviews, haha. It's likely that the problem arose because you imported your character in FBX format. To ensure the details work correctly, simply set the shader to "Bump Only" and follow these steps https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E_rXlUmkT-P6TWhhgIzybeEd2cVr73O8/view?usp=sharing
