Global AO is a Blender addon that lets you easily add Ambient Occlusion shader to all materials in your project.

Why Global AO?

Global AO was created to address a common issue with the new Ray Tracing (AO) in EEVEE Next, where objects often appear floaty or ungrounded regardless of the settings. This add-on allows you to achieve ambient occlusion similar to the previous EEVEE version, providing a more grounded look and greater control over AO strength.


Global Ambient Occlusion (Global AO) addon will save you a lot of time by automatically adding ambient occlusion shader to all materials in your project, so you don’t have to do it manually. This addon is designed for Blender 4.2 and above and is especially useful in EEVEE-next render engine.


You can effortlessly add Global AO shader to all materials in your scene or choose to apply it only to the materials of selected objects. You can also remove it anytime with a single click. Additionally, there's an option to add a material to objects without material slots, along with a debug mode.



  • The addon interface is located in the N-Panel, allowing you to easily adjust the strength, number of samples, and distance settings to suit your needs. 

         


Global AO will help you eliminate the "floating objects" effect and add an additional layer of depth to your complex projects, where it would otherwise be very time-consuming to manually add ambient occlusion shaders by hand.
