What is the best way to finalize the Model once done?
Once done I recommend not to remesh, but rather to Union the entire model. This will get rid of all inner geometry and give you a solid water tight mesh.
Can I blend the same object between 2 layers?
Yes you can, by linking the object into the collection where you want it to blend it will only blend with whatever object it is linked to, this gives you more control for connections and separate blending. :)
