Beginners Guide: Model A Cute Fuzzy Gnome
Hi, my name is Harry! I’m a professional 3d artist with over a decade of experience. I’ve worked most recently as the Studio Director of an award winning architectural visualization studio.
In this class, we’ll learn how to create a cute fuzzy gnome from scratch!
This class is meant for complete beginners to Blender. No experience in Blender (or 3d modeling in general) is needed to follow along, though it certainly wouldn't hurt! The included "Blender Crash Course" lesson will teach you everything you need to know to get started with the rest of the class.
In this class you'll learn:
- Blender Interface and Tools: Learn about the many basic tools and interface elements within Blender while creating our cute little gnome.
- Modeling: Build all the parts of your gnome using common modeling tools such as extrude, proportional editing and modifiers.
- Hair Systems: Utilize the Particle System inside Blender to create a realistic fuzzy beard and mustache.
- Lighting: Set up a soft lighting scheme to display our fuzzy gnome in the best light.
- Shading: Give your gnome some stylish clothing with fabric and leather textures. You'll also create stylized skin and realistic hair.
- Compositing: Learn simple compositing inside Blender, that will add a fun background to your render.
- Rendering: Render a final image in Blender so you can share it with your friends and family on social media.
