Is the glass shader different from the others or the original Cycles one?

Yes, it has been created specifically for this collection. While it may not be an all-around shader suitable for every purpose, it is well suited for crystal glassware, adding the right amount of reflections and following a physically-based approach

Is it 2.80 only?

As of now, yes. I don't plan to release a 2.79 version, as it is soon bound to expire. However you can still use the collection by appending single objects in your scene, which is also the most common way to use a library anyway
