Antique Camel-Back Sofas

This is a model of a Victorian camel-back sofa which is a classic piece of furniture that exudes elegance and historical charm. Characterized by its arched back that peaks in the center, resembling a camel's hump, this sofa design was popularized during the Victorian era. It features either a tufted burgundy leather back and leather cushions, or a Damask pattern on the cushions with accent pillows.  It features spindled wooden legs, scrolled arms with hand carved details on the arms and back. The craftsmanship of a Victorian camel-back sofa is meticulous, with a sturdy mahogany wood construction, making it a sophisticated addition to any traditional living space. The design reflects the grandeur and attention to detail typical of the period, offering both comfort and a timeless aesthetic appeal.

Usage:

Both models are contained in a single .blend file with all of the textures/images/materials packed inside.  To use them, you can append them into your scene as follows:

In your scene file, go to the File Menu and pull down to Append

Find the Antique_Sofa_BM.blend file and double click on it.

Double Click on the Collection icon

Select either the “Append_Antique_Damask_Sofa” or “Append_Antique_Leather_Sofa” and click append.

Note that the model components are all parented to a master Empty Item represented by the large labeled axis.  You can move or rotate this Empty Item to adjust the location and orientation of the model.

Technical:

The antique sofa was modeled in Blender 4.1 and utilized PBR shaders with some procedural color and bump adjustment.  Materials work in both Cycles and Eevee.  If you are rendering in Eevee, enable Ambient Occlusion in the Render Properties panel and adjust the parameters to your liking.

Subdivision modifiers are on some of the components to smooth the rendered result.  These modifiers are not currently set to display in the 3D viewport, but will display when rendered.  They can be enabled in the viewport by clicking on the viewport icon in the modifier properties tab for those components.
