three steps and you're done!

1. track your shot to generate the camera and nulls


2. run the javascript to generate a python file

3. then run the python file, which reconstructs the scene in blender



The 3d spaces of After effects and Blender have some crucial differences which can be frustrating, if you don't know them. This script takes care that the axis' are transformed accordingly and the order of rotation is changed as needed for the camera's motion.

The javascript file writes python files right where the javascript file is located. 
Each composition with a camera will create its own python file, named like the composition. 

In blender open the python file in the text editor and click play ("run script"), to construct the camera movement and all trackingpoints.

About the Creator: 

I am a 3D artist in the advertising & television industry for 25 years.
While working on projects and teaching animation at design college since 1998, i studied physics at the university of Vienna. That equipped me with a solid toolset of math to use in 3D workflows.
