Decal On The Shell - Hard Surface Tertiary Detail Kit

In this package you will receive 128 decals. These decals are designed as an all encompassing kit for tertiary details to be used for the DECAL ON THE SHELL ADDON (DOTS).


Why Use DOTS over DecalMachine you may ask?

1) DOTS utilities geometry as decals instead of textures like DecalMachine. This allows artists much more freedom as you can apply materials to both your decals and models without breaking the shading network that DecalMachine relies on. These decals can even be individually UVd to ensure even texel density over your entire model. Something that is not possible with DecalMachine.
2) You can visualize DOTS decals in the workbench viewport without need to be in rendered mode as they are geometry based.
3) Baking down details from high to low poly is much more intuitive as you can treat these decals the same you would any other high to low poly bake workflow.
4) Transferring these decals between software is simple as the normals are stored on the geometry.

The decals are separated into 6 categories: Bolts, CircularDetails, Extrudes, Patterns, Insets and VitalyTwists,(as seen in images)

All of these decals have been converted from my MeshMachineDecalMachine kits, so if you prefer that format please visit those links.

As I make more decals I will be continuously updating this library over time as well as the plug kit mentioned above.

How To Install:

Copy the .blend files provided to the addonPath/DecalOnTheShell/Decals_Sets folder.
